Opening IABR 2026 SYSTEMS OF SUPPORT

The exhibition SYSTEMS OF SUPPORT opens to the public on September 18, but we are launching it on Thursday, September 17, at the Piekfabriek in Rotterdam. The opening offers you one of the first opportunities to visit the exhibition and meet all the participants and projects. Space is limited. Will you be there?

During the opening, a variety of voices and perspectives on the systems that support our living environment will come together. Saskia van Stein (artistic director of the IABR) will speak with curators Wouter Veldhuis, Carola Hein, and Martina Muzzi about the exhibition and this edition’s theme. 

From Rotterdam, various voices from the city will be heard, accompanied by spoken-word artist Moze Naél. A special live performance will also be part of the opening. The official opening ceremony will be conducted by Marjolein Jansen, Director-General of Spatial Planning.

Following the opening ceremony, the exhibition will open to the public, offering an opportunity to mingle, enjoy a drink, and take short introductory tours led by the curators. 

The event is free, but registration is required.
The language of the event is English and Dutch.
