Vivian Ammerlaan - Office manager

Vivian Ammerlaan has been working as office manager at the IABR since 2019. Besides handling secretarial tasks, she supports in financial management and productions. She also works as a visual artist. Since studying at the Art Academy AKV St. Joost in Breda, she has been developing her practice, using photographic techniques, video and installations to find ways to give image to landscape and nature.

Nicole Bettonviel - Marketing project manager

Nicole Bettonviel is involved as a freelance marketing project manager at the International Architecture Biennial Rotterdam: SYSTEMS OF SUPPORT.

At IABR, Nicole oversees the storylines, brings structure and overview to the marketing approach, and strategically guides the campaign, both online and in the streetscape. Together with the team, she ensures that plans are transformed into a strong and recognizable campaign.

Over the years, Nicole has worked for theaters, agencies, museums, companies, and educational institutions. She enjoys writing proposals and grant applications, likes to brainstorm how a good idea can be made even better, and offers solicited and unsolicited advice if it helps a project or organization move forward. According to Nicole, the most beautiful projects arise when hard work is combined with humor, a relaxed atmosphere, and people who strengthen each other.

Maria Christopoulou - Producer exhibition

Maria Christopoulou is an architect, urbanist, and creative producer working across architectural design, spatial research, exhibition-making, and cultural programming. She holds an Integrated Master’s in Architectural Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a cum laude post-master’s degree from The Berlage, TU Delft. Her work spans cultural and architectural projects in international and cross-disciplinary contexts. Since 2022, she has contributed to multiple editions of the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam as a junior curator, project leader and, most recently, content producer. Working between Greece and the Netherlands, she brings together spatial thinking, editorial coordination, and hands-on production experience, alongside her ongoing practice in architecture, research, and construction management.

Silvie Dees - Managing Director

Silvie Dees is the managing director of the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam and has held various leadership and advisory roles within the cultural sector. She has served as managing director of Theaterproductiehuis Zeeland, business director of Theater Rotterdam, and has held similar positions at organizations such as theater company De Warme Winkel, festival and concert organizer Motel Mozaïque, dance company Ann Van den Broek (WArd/waRD), and the Belgian music ensemble Zefiro Torna. In addition, Silvie has served as an advisor to the Dutch Council for Culture and the Performing Arts Fund and is active as a board member and supervisor at various organizations. Earlier in her career, she worked for many years, both nationally and internationally, in the corporate and healthcare sectors, with a focus on sales and development.

Johanna Fuhler - Producer program

Johanna Fuhler is a producer and project manager working in the cultural sector. She has been involved with the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR) on and off since 2020. For IABR 2024: Nature of Hope, she worked as a programme assistant while also serving as project lead for Panorama Ukraine. Driven by a desire to contribute to solutions for urgent climate challenges and sustainable urban development, she feels right at home at IABR. In addition to her work at IABR, she produces a range of cultural events and film festivals, including Cinekid Festival and the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR).

Venla Keskinen - Producer exhibition

Venla Miila Kaarina Keskinen is a choreographer, producer and architect whose practice connects movement, spatial design and cultural production. Trained as an architect at Aalto University, with an exchange at TU Delft, she works across disciplines to create performances, exhibitions and community-driven initiatives that bring people together through participation and dialogue. Alongside her artistic practice as a dancer and choreographer, she has founded platforms including Under My Umbrella and PLAYGROUND, supporting emerging artists and strengthening connections within the Dutch ballroom and performance communities.

Alongside her independent practice, Venla works as an Exhibition Producer at the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR), where she contributes to the production of exhibitions and public programmes. Her work is driven by a belief that architecture, performance and collective experiences can create space for new perspectives, meaningful encounters and lasting cultural exchange.

Elisabeth Kuijt - Marketing & communicatie advisor

Elisabeth Kuijt is an experienced content and communications specialist with a broad background in marketing, digital communication, and content migrations. As a Marketing and Communications Specialist at the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR), she is responsible for newsletters and the website. She contributed to the Nature of Hope biennale and is currently focused on communication for Archiprix and the IABR.

In addition to her role at IABR, she works as a Communications Advisor at the Koninklijke Bibliotheek (KB) and as a Content Specialist at Vandemoortele. With her sharp focus on content strategy and optimization, Elisabeth ensures that organizations convey their message clearly and effectively.

Charlotte Meijssen - Producer assistent

Charlotte Meijssen assumes the role of Archiprix Project Manager within IABR. Drawing on her background in architecture and spatial design, she utilizes this project to further develop her expertise in production, scenography, marketing, and communication.

As a recent graduate of the MSc Architecture at Delft University of Technology, she consciously took the time to explore her position within the field. An important outcome of this reflection is her ambition to make the impact of the built environment—both positive and negative—intelligible to a broad audience in an accessible and understandable manner.

Maaike Menheere - Producer and location manager

Maaike works at IABR 2026 SYSTEMS OF SUPPORT as a producer and location manager. She has been working in the cultural sector since 2022 and has also been involved with IABR since It’s About Time (2022). Additionally, she is a producer and location manager for the Rotterdamse Dakendagen, Film in de Wijk, and the International Film Festival Rotterdam.

Reineke Otten - Head producer exhibition

Reineke Otten (The Netherlands, 1979) is a designer, creative producer and fixer working at the intersection of visual sociology, architecture and cultural production. After graduating from Design Academy Eindhoven, she developed a research-driven design practice exploring how social, technological and ecological systems shape everyday life. Her internationally exhibited project The World Skin Color and her ongoing research method streetology reflect her interest in revealing hidden patterns through visual observation.

Today, Reineke is Head producer exhibition at the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR), where she brings together curators, architects, designers and partners to realise exhibitions, programmes and public events. Known for connecting people, ideas and disciplines, she combines strategic thinking with hands-on production to turn complex concepts into meaningful public experiences.

Yonca Özbilge - Program manager

Yonca Özbilge works as a content and executive programmer for the culture sector and creative industries.

Since 2013, she has been working on the development and implementation of the program of the Architecture Biennale Rotterdam. In addition, Yonca was previously the program coordinator of the four-year strategic government program Dutch Design Fashion Architecture (DutchDFA). Through research, exhibitions, and events, she has documented the language, culture, and niches of big cities for various cultural organizations and museums. From 2008 to 2012, she was a member of the Rotterdamse Raad van Kunst & Cultuur (Rotterdam Council of Arts & Culture).

Yonca enjoys using culture, design, and multiperspectivity to engage in projects that contribute to a conscious, sustainable, and socially equitable society.

Saskia van Stein - Artistic and General Director

Saskia van Stein (she/her) is the artistic and general Director of the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR).

Van Stein has held the position of co-head of department of the MA program The Critical Inquiry Lab at the Design Academy in Eindhoven, 2019-2025. Prior to this, she was the artistic and managing Director of Bureau Europa, platform for architecture and design in Maastricht, 2013–2019.

Van Stein’s curatorial practice started at the Netherlands Architecture Institute, now Nieuwe Instituut, in Rotterdam, 2002–2012. There her first experimentations in curating exhibitions and exploring formats manifested. Always at the intersection of architecture, society, culture, politics, ecology, design and fine arts.

Over the span of her career, she curates, lectures, moderates, is in juries and writes. She has deep-seated interest in the politics of representation and worlding while reflecting on the Zeitgeist. She has often spearheaded topics and themes related to the politics of cultural production and designed environment itself.

Sabine van der Vooren - Imagemaker and Social Media Manager

Sabine van der Vooren is a photographer and filmmaker, known for her distinctive approach to capturing movement, emotion, and story through both commercial and personal projects. Her work blends artistic expression with a sharp technical eye, drawing inspiration from dance, architecture and human connection.

In addition to her creative work, Sabine manages the social media platforms for IABR, copywriting and curating content that highlights the intersection of art, architecture, and sustainability.

She works with diverse clients such as Nieuwe Instituut, Conny Janssen Danst, Nederlands Dans Theater, and SKVR to produce photographic and cinematic works that evoke depth and resonance.
