Architects Climate Action Network NL Launch

ACAN is an international network of individuals within architecture and related built environment professions taking action to address the twin crises of climate and ecological breakdown.
The state of emergency we are in calls for a new kind of professionalism. We can no longer remain secluded within our personal and professional silos. Instead we are harnessing our collective agency; as citizens with a shared professional background and a common goal, mobilising to bring about necessary changes to our industry.
We have three overarching aims: 1. Decarbonize now, 2. Ecological regeneration, and 3. Cultural transformation. In the Netherlands too, ACAN demands radical, ambitious and rapid change. We seek to create an open network to share resources, knowledge and demand for change to aid in this transition.
During the launch the following speakers will join:
Javier Arpa Fernandez (academic in architecture and urbanism and author, curator and researcher)
Peggy Deamer (professor of Architecture at Yale University and founding member of the Architecture Lobby)
NAA! (Netherlands Angry Architects; Dutch Architects; NA het werk)
Catherine Koekoek (co-curator of Nature of Hope and PhD candidate in Political Philosophy at Erasmus University Rotterdam)
Come meet us at our launch event! Join our network during an evening filled with honest conversations and activities, and find out how we can, together, redefine our profession and agency.
The spoken language is English.
This event is free, but please register via the link to reserve your ticket.
Afterwards there will be drinks at Westkop, registration is not required.
