Visitor Guidelines 

Welcome to the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR) 2026: SYSTEMS OF SUPPORT. We hope you enjoy your visit to the exhibition, the conversations, and the public program that are part of this edition of the biennale.  

To ensure that everyone can experience the exhibition safely and comfortably, we kindly ask you to observe the visitor guidelines below. By visiting IABR, you agree to these guidelines. 

Visitor Guidelines 

Please follow all instructions given by IABR staff, security personnel, emergency response officers, and other authorized representatives at all times. 

  • Treat fellow visitors, staff, volunteers, and participants with respect. Aggressive, discriminatory, intimidating, threatening, or otherwise inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated. 

  • The exhibition is located on a site that is still partially operational. For your own safety, visitors may only use the designated visitor routes and areas that are open to the public. 

  • Do not leave the marked visitor routes or enter restricted areas. Construction and operational activities take place outside the public areas, including the movement of trucks, forklifts, and other industrial vehicles. These parts of the site are strictly off-limits to visitors. 

  • IABR is responsible only for visitor safety within the designated public areas and marked visitor routes. Entering areas that are not open to the public is entirely at your own risk. IABR accepts no liability for injury, damage, or loss resulting from visitors entering unauthorized areas. 

  • Please do not touch artworks, installations, or other exhibited objects unless explicitly indicated otherwise. 

  • Bringing and consuming your own food and drinks is not permitted during your visit. A hospitality area within the exhibition offers drinks and light refreshments. This helps us keep the exhibition clean and protects the works on display. 

  • Photography for personal use is permitted unless otherwise indicated. Professional photography, filming, livestreaming, and the use of drones are only permitted with prior written permission from IABR. 

  • Children aged 16 and under are welcome but must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times. 

  • Assistance dogs are welcome. Other pets are not permitted. 

  • Smoking and the use of e-cigarettes are only permitted in the designated outdoor smoking areas. 

  • Visitors who do not comply with these guidelines or fail to follow instructions from IABR staff may be refused entry or asked to leave the exhibition without entitlement to a ticket refund.
