As a response to rising energy costs, the depletion of natural resources, geopolitical tensions, and increasing awareness of the ecological impact, the Independent School for the City is organizing a compact workshop exploring low-tech climate-adaptive solutions for heating and cooling buildings.

Tickets are available for € 100. More info and a detailed program can be found here.

Departing from the realization that it will not be possible to permanently keep the indoor temperature of all buildings at a comfortable 20 degrees Celsius, this workshop explores simple, affordable, and low-tech solutions that can make our indoor environments more comfortable – and ensure that comfort is shared fairly and sustainably as the climate changes. Bringing together insights from both the Netherlands and Cairo where the School worked together with Cluster, AP+E, and René Boer on DYI solutions for cooling, the workshop explores what these insights could mean for the Dutch context where both heating and cooling are an issue. Expect expert meetings, lectures, project visits, and a case study.

The +2,5 Degree City programme is an Initiative of the Independent School for the City, in collaboration with IABR.
