The International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR) welcomes four new members to its Supervisory Board as of March 24, 2026: Jantine Kriens (Chair), Youssef Rahman, Floris Alkemade, and Mina Morkoç. These appointments follow the completion of the terms of several current members and an expansion of the board.

With this new composition, IABR strengthens its Supervisory Board with a broad range of expertise in governance, design, societal challenges, and public values. Each of the new members brings a distinct perspective, aligned with IABR’s ambition to contribute to urgent spatial and societal issues through design research.

Jantine Kriens on her appointment: “Together with my fellow members of the Supervisory Board, we will act as a sparring partner to the executive board while overseeing the quality of the organization. We look forward, from our respective roles, to contributing to the upcoming biennale and to the further development of IABR.”

The Supervisory Board oversees the organization’s policy and performance and supports the executive board in achieving its mission. The arrival of the new members ensures continuity in governance while also creating space for new insights and perspectives.

We extend our gratitude to the departing members of the Supervisory Board, Medy van der Laan, Allard Castelein, and Kitty van Dongen, for their dedication, expertise, and commitment over the past years.
