Rotterdam, January 13, 2025 – The Archiprix Foundation and the Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR) are pleased to announce their partnership for the next two years! The IABR will take over the organization and programming of two editions of the leading event for talented architects, landscape architects, interior architects and urban designers. The focus will not only be on judging and the annual awards ceremony, but also on dialog, social relevance, and providing a platform for the new generation of designers.
For over 40 years, Archiprix has been connecting education, designers, clients, and the public by focusing on spatial challenges and socially relevant issues. Archiprix presents itself as a platform that directly connects the outcomes of education with the social value of the design disciplines.
Following the departure of the director of the Archiprix Foundation, the board chose to partner with the IABR. This partnership allows Archiprix to continue its mission of promoting and highlighting emerging design talent. The IABR has a strong track record in fostering and curating programs that address design and social challenges and has a broad public reach.
Exhibition ‘Open Work’ in Kasteel Groeneveld
The first fruit of this partnership is the exhibition ‘Open Work’ at Kasteel Groeneveld in Baarn, from 24 January to 30 March 2025. The seven award-winning final projects of Archiprix 2024 will be presented here, complemented by thematic discussions with the young designers. The aim is to create an inspiring space where the prizewinners can share their ideals, fascinations, and ambitions with a diverse audience.
In the coming months, the two organizations will work together closely to ensure a smooth transition and prepare for the first edition under IABR leadership, which will take place in 2025. Both organizations look forward to an inspiring program that presents the work of promising young designers and forges new connections between design, practice, and society.
The opening will be on the Friday 24th of January from 16:00. Kasteel Groeneveld is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
