New Narrative for Architecture and Urbanism (NNAU)
Lancering
We are living in turbulent times of transition, where societies are reaching their own limits. For the (Dutch) building sector, a major consumer of raw materials, the Paris Agreement means that from 2030, new buildings must be zero emission. From 2050, the same will apply to all existing buildings. This requires radical and visionary solutions in the field of spatial design, beyond individual interests. It requires a new narrative.
The IABR has taken the initiative to bring together a group of designers who are doing things differently, using different ideals and materials to actively explore new, greener ways of designing and building. On 4 December from 4 to 6 pm, the New Narrative for Architecture and Urbanism (NNAU) will be launched to collectively address a new culture of architecture. With contributions by Vincent van der Meulen (Kraaijvanger Architecten), Ninke Happel (Happel, Cornelisse Verhoeven), and Daan Zandbelt (De Zwarte Hond).
