Archiprix, a platform to which all design schools in the Netherlands are affiliated, is dedicated to presenting and supporting the latest generation of architects, urban designers, landscape architects, and interior designers. By highlighting spatial issues and socially relevant themes implicit in the graduation projects of young, talented designers, Archiprix creates links between education, designers, clients, and the public. Raising awareness of social issues and promoting the critical mentality typical of the new generation of designers are central to its mission.

Early next year, Archiprix will present the seven award-winning graduation projects of its 2024 edition during the ‘Open Work’ exhibition at Kasteel Groeneveld. The exhibition and the accompanying thematic discussion aim to create a common space where the prize winners – the latest wave of design talent – can share their ideals, fascinations, and ambitions with the public. The discussion will focus on the social relevance of design.

Last summer, out of a pool of 27 graduation projects, a jury awarded seven prizes or honourable mentions to the following projects: Lea Hartmeyer’s The Forest Formerly Known as . . . Parkstad, Gavin Fraser’s The Eyes Are the Window to the Soul, Tom Slots’ De Wachtkamer, Jakub Biernacki’s BURNT, Julia Ravensbergen’s Bloemkoolwijken, Jacob Heydorn Gorski’s Retreat the Line, and Margot van Bekkum’s Recollections. This selection will be on show at Kasteel Groeneveld from 17 January to 30 March 2025, under the title Open Work.

The Archiprix Foundation will organize the exhibition in collaboration with the Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR). The IABR will also act as the executive producer for a series of discussions and meetings at Kasteel Groeneveld. Detailed information on these events will be published in January.

Exhibition Duration: 17 January - 30 March 2025 (Opening: 24 January 2025, 4 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.)
Languages: All texts will be available in Dutch and English.
