Water Cities describes the 32 cities that are exemplary, as well as 12 plans for new water cities in the Netherlands, proposed by urban designers and landscape architects in collaboration with the Dutch government and provincial and local authorities.
These proposals offer architectural and urban planning solutions to the problems that water will inevitably cause in the future.
The book opens with an interview with landscape architect Adriaan Geuze, the curator of The Flood, who explains why water cities was chosen as a central theme of the Biennale.
